Searcy Leadership Institute deadline extended

The Searcy Leadership Institute (SLI) has extended it's deadline until August 20, 2010.  The Searcy Leadership Institute is aimed at developing a network of talented leaders for present and future community needs.  To meet this vision, the Leadership Institute seeks to:  

• Identify and motivate individuals with leadership potential

• Acquaint them with community needs, challenges, and opportunities Offer a forum of exchange on methods for dealing with community issues

• Challenge potential leaders to become involved with local issues and the process of decision making

A series of one-day sessions have been planned to focus on issues, people, and opportunities for leadership for Searcy citizens from September through May.  The order and content of some sessions may change.

Session 1:  Learning the Ropes: Accepting the Challenge of Leadership
Session 2:  Personality Type and Teamwork; Searcy: Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow
Session 3:  Cultural Barriers to Communication; Marketing Searcy to Industry
Session 4:  Searcy Education: A Diversity of Opportunities Session 5:  Leadership: The State View
Session 6:  Government & Politics: The Local View
Session 7:  Health and Human Services
Session 8:  Opportunities for Community Service; Lunch Ceremony Honoring Graduates

The Searcy Leadership Institute consists of full day training sessions. Each session will generally be scheduled on the second Tuesday of each month from 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Program participants are expected to attend every session.  If you are interested in attending please download an application or contact the chamber at scc@searcychamber.com to request an application.
