150th Birthday Celebration Historic Benjamin Clayton Black House

You are cordially invited to the 150th Birthday Celebration and Ice Cream Social of The Historic Benjamin Clayton Black House. This is an important moment for The Historic Benjamin Clayton Black House’s history, as well as the City of Searcy as a whole. The Searcy Arts Council would be delighted to see fellow artists take part in an afternoon of painting plein-air.

We ask if you would be willing, along with several other artists from the White County area, to create a plein-air painting on the grounds of The Black House. This is not only a celebration of the house’s history or the City of Searcy, but a celebration of the fact that The Historic Benjamin Clayton Black House will forever serve as The Searcy Art Gallery. We would be honored for you to join us for the festivities, as well as create a work of art (if you desire to do so) while you are here. If you are willing to create a plein-air painting, please be advised that we cannot provide supplies or a canvas. Any medium and style is acceptable, and all are welcome to participate!
