Harding recognizes 2024 fall candidates for graduation during Dec. 14 commencement

University honors 426 students representing 32 U.S. states and thirteen countries
SEARCY, Ark. (Dec. 10, 2024) — Harding University will hold its fall commencement ceremony, honoring 82 summer graduates and 360 candidates for graduation, at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14. The ceremony is to be held in the University’s George S. Benson Auditorium, located at 201 S. Blakeney in Searcy.
During commencement, the University will recognize the accomplishments of students representing 32 U.S. states and thirteen countries, including Australia, Bahamas, Brazil, China, Greece, France, Nigeria, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Sweden, Taiwan and Tanzania. The University will confer 449 degrees across its distinguished programs, demonstrating the academic success of all eight colleges.
“Commencement marks both an end and a beginning, as we celebrate the accomplishments of our students and prepare to see them thrive beyond Harding,” said Dr. Mike Williams, president of Harding University. “We are inspired by their potential to lead with purpose and impact their communities in transformative ways.”
The commencement address will be given by Dr. Jim Martin, retired vice president of Harding School of Theology. Martin holds degrees from the University of North Texas, Abilene Christian University and Harding School of Theology, where he also served as vice president from 2014 to 2024. Renowned for his inspirational “Encouragement Notes,” Martin is a respected writer, International Coaching Federation-certified coach and longtime board member of the Christian Scholarship Foundation. Alongside his wife, Charlotte, he is dedicated to equipping individuals to serve meaningfully in their communities.
Following the address, Harding President Mike Williams will recognize candidates as they are recommended by the faculty for graduation.
